WE tv brings back “Bridezillas”

U.S. cable network WE tv is bringing back wedding reality show Bridezillas.

The series, which was originally produced by September Films, aired for 10 seasons before ending in 2013. It was followed by the spin-off series Marriage Boot Camp, which recently concluded its eighth season.

Bridezillas spotlights engaged women who become slightly unhinged in the days leading up to their wedding.

“Years after saying goodbye to our last ‘Bridezilla,’ we have been asked consistently to bring this show back by viewers and fans,” said Marc Juris, president of WE tv, in a statement. “With its built-in fan base and continued cultural relevance, the Bridezillas franchise is a strategic growth asset that we can leverage across our business and we are thrilled to be bringing it back to WE tv.”

Bridezillas is executive produced by Laura Halperin. Executive producers for WE tv are Lauren P. Gellert, Kate Farrell and Angela Molloy.

Nick Helm on the menu for Dave

British multi-channel broadcaster UKTV has commissioned a new culinary series for Dave, its entertainment channel.

Eat Your Heart Out with Nick Helm (16 x 30 minutes) follows comedian and actor Nick Helm as he come to terms with his newfound single status while taking a personal culinary journey around the UK and Europe.

The series was ordered by Richard Watsham, UKTV’s director of commissioning and Steve North, general manager for Dave.  It was commissioned by Iain Coyle, UKTV’s senior commissioning editor, and is a coproduction of North One and Showem.

The series is created and executive produced by Simon Goodman of Showem, while Steve Gowans and John Quinn are the executive producers for North One.

Starz picks up “Do You Know?”

Toronto-based producer and distributor, Portfolio Entertainment, has signed a raft of new deals that will see their animated and live-action series launch in the Ukraine, Middle East and North Africa, and the U.S.

Among them, U.S. pay-TV network Starz has picked up both seasons of the docuseries Do You Know?  Hosted by YouTube tech vlogger Maddie Moatte, the series explores everyday objects and familiar places in a kid-friendly way.

“We’re thrilled to continue growing the success of our tentpole series while bringing fresh, diverse titles to new and existing global partners and audiences,” said Jonathan Abraham, director of international sales and acquisitions for Portfolio Entertainment.
