Production house 44 Blue has tapped Ryan Weaver as the new head of business development of its digital studio, Ovrture.

Weaver (pictured, left) joins the digital studio from Red Arrow Entertainment Group’s portfolio digital company Band of Outsiders, where he served as head of development. While there, he developed series with cultural leaders such as Steve Wozniak, Neil Strauss and Bob Forrest and created content partnerships with Galore Media, rewardStyle and Seed&Spark.

Elsewhere, Melanie Bowman (pictured, right) has been elevated from manager to director of development, where she will work to broaden the company’s digital slate. In recent years she has been integral to developing series that include Worth A Shot and Foxtossing for Fullscreen and Twisted Sisters for Investigation Discovery.

Meanwhile, 44 Blue has brought Laura Icken onboard as VP of legal and business affairs and has elevated Aaron Peters to VP of finance and Judy Ludy to director of office relations.

44 Blue’s current slate of programming and partners include Mark Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg for the Emmy-nominated Wahlburgers and Dick Wolf for Nightwatch, among others.

Current series also include E!’s Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, Animal Planet’s long-running Pit Bulls & Parolees and HBO documentary Rock and a Hard Place.
