BBCWW ups Tobi de Graaff to commissioning director

BBC Worldwide has promoted Tobi de Graaff to the newly created role of director commissioning and co-production.

In his new position, de Graaff (pictured, left) will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies for content. He will report to Helen Jackson, chief content officer.

De Graaf’s expanded role will build on his experience as EVP, Western Europe, where he managed BBCWW’s relationships with key national and global customers.

Prior to joining BBCWW in 2014, de Graaf worked as the director of global TV distribution for ITV Studios. Before that, he was director of sales and acquisitions for Zodiak Television World.

BBCWW has elevated Nick Percy to take on de Graaf’s previous role. In his new position, Percy (pictured, right) will oversee the company’s business activities in the region, which includes Benelux, France, Germany, Iberia, Italy and the Nordics.

Beginning Sept. 1, Percy will manage some of company’s biggest sales clients, the Northern European channels portfolio and production bases in France, Germany and the Nordics.

Percy has held several positions at BBCWW, including EVP Northern Europe, VP and general manager for Central and Eastern Europe and director of business development and digital.

“Nick is a successful leader whose understanding of the increasingly complex European landscape makes him perfectly suited to growing our business across these important markets,” said Paul Dempsey, president global markets, BBC Worldwide, in a statement.
