On tap for this week’s edition of Renewed and Returning are new seasons for shows on Investigation Discovery, MTV, TLC and more.

Award-winning journalist Chris Hansen returns to true crime network Investigation Discovery with a new season of Killer Instinct with Chris Hansen on Sept. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The third season of the copro between ID and ITN Productions finds Hansen tracing some of America’s most unnerving homicides and the lives that were shaken by these events. 

Elsewhere, MTV has greenlit a second season of Fear Factor with Ludacris, who is returning as host and executive producer. Produced by Endemol Shine North America, the 20-episode order is slated to premiere in 2018. The series gives contestants the chance to confront their fears and take action against some of their biggest stressors.

A new batch of eight bakers from across the country compete to create haunting and spooky sweets on the new season of Halloween Baking Championship, premiering Sept. 25th at 9 p.m ET/PT on the Food Network.

Comedian John Henson hosts, as the contestants’ baking abilities and imaginations are put to the test. Only one taking home the grand prize of $25,000 and the title of Halloween Baking Champion.   

Bravo Media’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey, produced by Sirens Media, returns for season eight on Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Returning are Garden Girls Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, and Siggy Flicker, who are joined by new housewife Margaret Josephs.

Also returning to Bravo Media are the Biermanns in Don’t Be Tardy…, with a double episode premiere on Oct. 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The family bond remains as solid as a rock through marital bliss, teenage drama, a family trip and a brush with danger. Don’t Be Tardy… is produced by Truly Original.

Over at TLC, the network has renewed the award-winning series Who Do You Think You Are? for a new season, premiering in spring 2018. Produced by Shed Media, the series follows some of the most beloved celebrities as they embark on personal journeys of self-discovery by tracing their own family lineage.

Also returning to TLC are the Johnstons in a new season of 7 Little Johnstons premiering Sept. 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. From Figure 8 Films, the little family gives viewers a look into their daily lives as their children continue to grow up and reach more milestones.

And Travel Channel has greenlight a second season of Man v. Food with Casey Webb, which will premiere later this year. Webb is a restaurant business vet with a desire for travel and competition. The series spotlights Webb as he travels around the country to take on outlandish food challenges.
