NBCUniversal International Studios has appointed former Endemol Shine Group executive Ana Langenberg as senior VP of format sales and production of the company’s formats division.

Based in London, Langenberg (pictured) will be responsible for leading the global sales and production of all NBCU-owned formats and will work alongside NBCUniversal International Distribution to drive the growth of its formats worldwide.

The new role will see Langenberg report directly into to NBCUniversal International Studios COO Sarah Cooper.

“We are so pleased to be welcoming Ana during such an exciting growth period for international formats. Her unrivalled format expertise teamed with her extensive international experience makes her the perfect fit for the role and I look forward to working with her in growing the business and extending the reach of our catalogue internationally,” said Cooper, in a statement.

The announcement comes nearly a year-to-the-date after a reshuffle at global producer-distributor Endemol Shine Group had Langenberg step down from her role as chief operating officer of Creative Networks, responsible for co-managing the central creative and commercial division and leading the format distribution and acquisition operation.

Langenberg had spent 18 years with ESG, moving into the role of COO in November from her previous post as global head of format distribution. Her remit included responsibility for the department’s overall commercial operations, format sales, acquisitions and music.

During her time with the company, Langenberg played a key role in launching Endemol’s affiliates in Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, while also playing a significant part in the global roll out of such international formats as Big BrotherWipeoutDeal or No Deal? and The Money Drop. She joined Endemol in 1998 and rose through the ranks to become senior licensing manager and senior manager of format distribution.

Additionally, Langenberg was instrumental in the establishment of Endemol’s joint ventures in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and India. She served as a board member for Endemol Shine Globo in Brazil.
