Former MGM Studios president Roma Khanna is joining Sean “Diddy” Combs’ music-centric digital cable net Revolt Media and TV as CEO.
Khanna, reporting to Combs and the company’s board of directors, will oversee Revolt’s efforts to grow as a multi-platform content creator and brand.
“As Revolt continues to grow as a brand and expand globally, I knew we needed a seasoned executive with a proven track record to keep the momentum going and help me lead the network into the future,” said Combs in a statement. “Roma is that person. She has the experience and tenacity to build on Revolt’s success and as we continue to influence content and culture around the world.”
Khanna served as president of MGM Studios Television Group and Digital from June of 2011 to December of 2015, when Mark Burnett was named president, following MGM’s buyout of United Artists Media Group.
Under her oversight, the company developed such scripted properties as History’s Vikings and Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale, among others.
Prior to MGM, Khanna served as president of NBCUniversal’s International Networks and Digital, overseeing the Peacock’s stable of cable entertainment channels and growing the roster from 14 to more than 70 worldwide.
Revolt’s programming, while skewing primarily towards hip-hop music and culture, features music videos, artist interviews and non-fiction content across various musical genres.
