TLC is looking to take viewers inside the homes of the average American family.

In the new docuseries Behind Closed Doors: The American Family, cameras follow the personal lives of three different families across the country, using a “hands-off” approach to capture the intricacies of their daily lives.

The series, produced by Shed Media, aims to offer a unique perspective of the day-to-day lives of the average American. Mandy and Jeff, one couple featured in the series, try to adjust to as Mandy leaves her corporate position to become a stay at home mom to her three boys and newly adopted daughter.

Elsewhere, Deena and Andy struggle to reconnect following an infidelity that has affected the whole family.

Finally, an engaged couple living together in Palm Springs Beach, Florida, try to get past their relationship doubts in an effort to finally make it to the altar.

The 6×60 minute series will premiere on Monday, September 18.
