To coincide with the return of Trading Spaces, TLC is prepping a new digital spinoff of the popular series which will be released next spring on TLC Go.

Produced by Authentic Entertainment, a subsidiary of Endemol Shine North America, Training Spaces features veteran designers and carpenters putting newbies to the test with a series of challenges aimed at strengthening the skills they’ll need to transform homes.

The design competition show features three new designers: John Gidding, Kahi Lee and Sabrina Soto. The trio will complete five design challenges to prep themselves for the Trading Spaces team.

In addition to facing a time crunch in creating their designs, new carpenters Brett Tutor and Joanie Dodd will assign the trio something unexpected to build in a short period.

“We are thrilled to welcome back Trading Spaces with a brand new multi-platform content experience,” said Scott Lewers, senior vice-president of multi-platform programming and digital content at TLC, in a statement.

Training Spaces will be hosted by Trading Spaces veteran Paige Davis. TLC recently announced that Davis (pictured), who hosted the show during its seven-season run, will be returning to lead to the reboot.
