Kanal D International, the global business arm of Turkish media conglomerate Dogan TV Holding, has launched a new unit devoted to international coproductions and content investments.

The newly incorporated division will target the global market by focusing its efforts on developing creative business models in copro and content investments across the genres of non-scripted, scripted, film and mini-series.

Kanal D International most recently strengthened its operations in Latin America via a copro deal with Chile’s Mega.

Leading the new division will be former Endemol Shine Turkey executive Nilufer Kuyel (pictured) as director of coproductions and foreign investments. She will report directly into Ozge Bulut Marasli, CEO of Kanal D & Production Companies.

At the Istanbul-based Endemol Shine Turkey, Kuyel served as head of acquisitions and business development, where she oversaw the acquisitions of both scripted and non-scripted third party and Group-affiliated content. Additionally, she was critical in creating, developing and coordinating sales for Endemol Shine Turkey’s original catalog and executing production hubs with the Group’s operational companies.

Prior to this, she served as head of format acquisitions and sales for Turkey’s ATV channel, launching the company’s distribution department for local scripted and non-scripted fare.
