TVF International sells its summer slate

Indie distributor TVF International has made a raft of sales of its summer slate.

The Healthy Food Guide (10 x 23), produced for Choice TV, New Zealand has been picked up by India’s Zee Entertainment and Australia’s SBS Food Network. The Australian pubcaster also secured rights to the BBC doc George III: Genius of the Mad King (1 x 60) for its main channel.

The royal-focused Channel 4′s At Her Majesty’s Service (4 x 60) has found a home in North America to Zoomer in Canada, Acorn TV and American Public Television in the U.S., and Discovery Living Channel in New Zealand along with UKTV’s John Torode’s Asia (10 x 23).

Foxtel ANZ snapped up Burma’s Lost Royals (1 x 60) and Diana: 20 Years On (1 x 60).

Elsewhere, ABS CBN landed the rights to the anniversary piece as part of a package including The Checklist Effect (1 x 60). Films Media Group also snapped up the title alongside Kingdom of Saturn (1 x 60), the story of the Cassini spacecraft.

The natural history doc Diving with Sharks (1 x 60) went to AMC Networks Iberia and FTV Prima Czech Republic.

VIMN and Endemol Shine Group ink deal for Fear Factor

Endemol Shine Group and Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) have inked a multi-territory deal for the reality series Fear Factor.

Under the terms of this new agreement, VIMN will broadcast Fear Factor’s first season and the newly announced second season across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia (excluding India and Pakistan) and Australia/New Zealand.

Produced by Endemol Shine North America, Fear Factor (pictured) is hosted by recording artist Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges. Filled with stunts inspired by urban legends, popular scary movies and viral videos, the series contestants confront their fears, are pushed beyond their comfort zones and fight against their biggest stressors as they battle it out for a cash prize of $50,000.

Nat Geo People picks up international broadcast rights to broadcast A Chef’s Life

Lifestyle channel Nat Geo People has landed the international distribution rights to the Emmy-award winning series A Chef’s Life.

The show’s first four seasons and a holiday special will broadcast in Denmark, Italy, Alto Adige, Capodistria, Malta, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Switzerland, Poland, Liechtenstein, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Malta and Cyprus.

A Chef’s Life is co-produced by TV and doc film company Markay Media and Deep Run Productions — a company owned by the show’s star, North Carolina chef Vivian Howard.

TV distribution company Flame Media brokered the deal between Markay Media and Nat Geo People.

The fifth season of A Chef’s Life is slated to premiere in October on PBS.
