ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has elevated Greg Johnson to executive vice-president, EMEA and Americas (ITVS GE).
Johnson’s new role will see him lead the EMEA sales team while continuing to oversee distribution in the Americas.
He will relocate to London, where he will take up his expanded role in January. Johnson continues to report to Ruth Berry, managing director, ITVS GE.
Johnson joined ITVS GE in 2013 and has since led a team, that according to a release, doubled the size of the Americas distribution business, and was responsible for closing deals such as Hulu’s commission of Harlots; the Amazon acquisition of UK indie prodco Mammoth Screen’s upcoming Vanity Fair; and PBS Masterpiece’s copro agreements for the series Victoria and Poldark.
Prior to joining ITVS GE Johnson was SVP, factual sales and co-productions, BBC Worldwide Americas. He was appointed to BBCWW in 2010, where he was initially responsible for the distributor’s factual sales and copro business in the U.S. Previously Johnson was VP, sales for Disney Media Distribution, Asia Pacific.
The appointment of Johnson comes on the heels of ITVS GE hiring Endemol Shine’s Pascal Dalton as VP, global format sales in June.
