UK commercial network ITV has announced a one-off program featuring boxing champion Anthony Joshua and television presenter Bear Grylls.
In Bear’s Mission with Anthony Joshua, the pair venture to one of the UK’s most iconic coastlines, where Grylls will present Joshua with outdoor challenges.
Grylls is best known for hosting adventure competition series Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.
“Taking a home-grown legend like AJ on such an iconic British journey was such a privilege,” said Grylls, in a statement. “I’ve had many incredible times with celebrities on Mission Survive, so the chance to take AJ on an adventure was always going to be special.”
The 1 x 60-minute program is a production by Bear Grylls Ventures, Electus and betty for ITV. ITV commissioner for factual entertainment Amanda Stavri will oversee the program’s development, and Electus International will distribute the program internationally.
“We are delighted to be working with ITV And Bear on Bear’s Mission with… Anthony has become a hero in the boxing ring and has won the hearts of the British public with his hardworking, down to earth approach,” says betty executive producer David Harrison. “To see someone at the top of their game around the world tested in a completely alien environment is not to be missed.”
Bear’s Mission with Anthony Joshua will air on ITV this fall.
