Janice Strangward has joined UK indie Wag TV to head its global content distribution arm.

In her new role, Strangward (pictured) will be responsible for acquiring third party content for distribution by Wag.

The executive has experience selling a range of content genres across several territories and has held senior sales roles at Discovery Networks, Entertainment One, Passion Distribution, Al Jazeera Media Network and Zee Entertainment Enterprises.

Wag Worldwide, the prodco’s distribution arm, was formed last year and will debut at MIPCOM in October with 62 hours of content and a roster of pop-science, history and engineering shows in development seeking pre-sales funding.

Wag TV recently won commissions by British multi-channel broadcaster UKTV and Discovery’s Science Channel in the U.S. for The Great War In Numbers (6 x 60) which uses stats to tell the story of World War I and Strange Evidence (10 x 60) which investigates strange events caught on surveillance cameras. Both series premiere this fall on Yesterday (UKTV) and Science Channel.
