Ovrture, the digital media and virtual reality division of 44 Blue Productions, has partnered with TV food personality Adam Richman (pictured) to develop Adam’s Highways and Byways.

Laid out on a map interface in VR, Adam’s Highways and Byways will serve as an interactive travel mini-series featuring some of the best restaurants and visual curiosities alongside iconic U.S. routes.

The 360-video will see Richman traveling from the largest rocking chair on Route 66 to Santa Cruz’s Stagnaro Brothers on the Pacific Coast Highway for their legendary Red & White chowder, to the assorted flavored vodka’s at Manhattan’s Uncle Vanya Cafe.

“Virtual reality really allows someone a fully immersive way of experiencing the sights and sounds of these iconic locations. In fact, it’s as close as you can come without actually being there,” said Richman, in a statement.

“The Ovrture team is excited to be developing a nicely interactive VR series that celebrates Americana in such a cool way,” added Ryan Weaver, who was recently tapped as Ovrture’s head of business development.

Ovrture has produced 360-video ancillary content for MSNBC’s Lockup; A&E’s Nightwatch¬†and Wahlburgers; and HBO’s documentary Rock and a Hard Place. The company has also produced, in partnership with Peter Berg’s Film 45, the 360 doc Frontline: Mosul.

Richman is represented by WME and Rain Management Group.
