Los Angeles-based indie studio Propagate Content has set an Oct. 9 launch date for its daily primetime live series #WhatsHappening.

Hosted by American actor and internet personality Bree Essrig (pictured), the 20-minute series will stream live on Twitter, and will deliver relevant and comical stories, tweets, GIFs, clips and conversations from the worlds of television, film, comedy, sports, politics and pop culture.

Essrig has been featured in numerous YouTube videos for such channels as Break, Funny or Die, BlackBoxTV and What’s Trending, among others. She served as host on Discovery Digital Network’s news and pop culture channel SourceFed, and produces content for DDN’s sketch comedy channel Nuclear Family. Essrig’s personal YouTube channel has more than 300,000 subscribers and 19 million views.

“Twitter is at the center of every cultural conversation, with a global community of users who are quick to create instant trends through funny, smart and poignant comments,” said Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens, co-CEOs of Propagate, in a joint statement. “#WhatsHappening will identify those big moments for viewers, and join the conversation.”

“This live show will deliver the best of what’s happening in pop culture alongside the real time Twitter conversation to people around the world,” added Todd Swidler, global head of live video business at Twitter.

#WhatsHappening will stream live on Twitter via @HappeningDaily and will be made available Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Oct. 9.
