ZDF Enterprises, the commercial arm of German pubcaster ZDF, has announced the resignation of president and CEO Alexander Coridass, effective at the end of 2017.

A founding executive of ZDF Enterprises in 1992, Coridass has worked at the company for 25 years, serving in his current roles for the past 20. He joined ZDF in 1985, working in the fields of labor and corporate law, international law, copyright and cable distribution in foreign countries.

Until ZDF Enterprises was founded, he served as head of the programs department at the pubcaster.

Coridass’ current position as spokesman of the management board at ZDF Enterprises will be assumed by Fred Burcksen, who is set to manage the company with co-managing director Stephan Adrian.

“Twenty-five years of playing an active part in the development of ZDF Enterprises and of being able to contribute in leading the company group to where it stands today, was not only a real challenge, but also a special privilege,” says Coridass in a statement. “I look back on this period with great gratitude, especially to my employees and business partners.”

ZDF director general Thomas Bellut says, “Alexander Coridass combines the enthusiasm for television and its programs with a strong degree of entrepreneurial flexibility and determination. As president and CEO, he has made ZDF Enterprises a successful and internationally renowned company.”
