Screen Queensland is sending top-tier writers, producers and directors across the scripted entertainment genre to Scripted, and we look forward to welcoming them as the conference’s first official international delegation.

Screen Queensland invests in talent and projects to grow a creative, innovative and successful screen industry with a focus on stories for global audiences; secures production to Queensland; and delivers an active screen culture across the state.

Darren Paul Fisher is an award-winning film writer, director and producer. His most recent feature, the alternate-reality romantic mystery Frequencies won a raft of awards on its festival run before being released internationally to rave reviews. Darren made his feature film debut writing, producing and directing the innovative micro-budget feature Inbetweeners. He is currently working across a variety of projects both in film and television, including high-concept action-romance Kinetic with Australian producer Todd Fellman (Daybreakers, The Nest, Jungle); Hazard, a Steampunk heist film; and Frequencies: The TV Series, a mystery thriller set in the world of the original film developed with backing from Screen Queensland.

Drew Macdonald is a filmmaker whose work crosses over from narrative film and television to documentary. He’s known for associate producing the Emmy-nominated and AACTA award-winning feature documentary Only The Dead and co-wrote and produced The Wanderers, for ABC and Ovation Networks U.S.A. His short film, Creeper, will premiere in late 2017 at Sitges International Film Festival and Screamfest LA. He has completed an in-house writer/producer placement with the Emmy-award winning Hoodlum Entertainment in Australia, and has a slate of TV and feature projects at various stages of development.

Anthony Morris has been a screenwriter, script editor and story producer for over 25 years, creating screen dramas that have shown on all five Australian free-to-air networks, and throughout the world including the U.S. on Netflix, Nickelodeon and Disney. His experience runs the gamut of television drama and includes amongst others the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award-winning H2O: Just Add Water; the AFI-winning prime-time cop series Stingers, MAKO – Island of Secrets, The Crash Zone, the AFI-winning The Elephant Princess, as well as Australia’s two all-time most successful small-screen exports – dramas Home & Away and Neighbours. He has worked with some of the top production companies in Australia and on co-productions with U.S., British, German and Canadian companies, and has a raft of feature film and television projects in development.
