Off the Fence expands sales, digital team

Global production and distribution company Off the Fence has appointed three execs to be based at the company’s Amsterdam headquarters.

Rebeca Fernández joins the company as sales manager. Reporting to Ludo Dufour, managing director – sales and coproductions, Fernández will oversee sales to Latin America and US Hispanics, Iberia, the UK and EIRE.

Fernández joins Off the Fence (OTF) from Pilot Productions, where she served as head of sales. She previously held roles at Zodiak Rights, El Mundo and Eurosport.

Meanwhile, Dr. Jia Zhao has been appointed sales and production executive. In this role, Zhao will be responsible for selling OTF’s content to China, Taiwan and Korea, in addition to bolstering the company’s relationships with local production partners.

Zhao will report to Anouk van Dijk, sales manager, and work alongside senior sales executive Gem Lejarde. She previously founded Amsterdam-based prodcos Muyi Film and Silk Road Film Salon.

“We are delighted to welcome Rebeca and Jia to the Off the Fence team,” said Dufour, in a statement. “Their international experience, multilingual skills and expertise in content production and distribution will prove invaluable and contribute to further our global growth.”

Elsewhere, Victor Eckard (pictured) joins OTF as director of digital media. Eckard will oversee the company’s digital media production and distribution strategy and holds 15 years of experience in the media and entertainment industries. He previously served as head of content for Naspers’ SVOD business, Showmax, and as channel director at M-Net’s premium flagship pay-TV channels.

“Victor’s depth of knowledge in both linear and non-linear businesses will prove invaluable to Off the Fence’s digital media strategy,” said OTF CEO and founder Ellen Windemuth, in a statement. “He will be a true asset to the team and we look forward to working with him.”
