Digital media company Jukin Media and Verizon’s mobile entertainment platform go90 are teaming on a docuseries that examines the personal, human stories that emerged out of major cultural events over the past year.
Featuring user-generated video as the primary source of footage, each episode of This Is Happening focuses on one major event. Within the main story, three to four recollections of the event are told by the people who were there on the ground. They share their personal experiences along with the video footage they captured during the events.
“User-generated content will revolutionize the way contemporary events are documented, and this series is one of the first examples of that,” said Jonathan Skogmo, founder and CEO of Jukin Media, in a statement.
This Is Happening will look at a range of happenings, from the tragedy of Hurricane Harvey to the inspiring Women’s March to the disastrous Frye Festival and more.
The series is executive produced by Jukin Media’s Jonathan Skogmo and Josh Entman, and Emmy-winning producer and director Lauren Thompson.
This Is Happening premieres today (October 27) exclusively on go90.
