Australia-based indie content producer Essential Media and Entertainment has tapped Kate Brady for the role of commercial director.

In her new position, Brady concentrate on commercial interests and business affairs for the company’s television, theatrical and digital content. She reports to CEO Chris Hilton.

The executive joins the company from Network Ten, where she held the position of network business affairs manager.

Brady has also held senior commercial and legal positions across Australia’s networks and prodcos including ABC, Matchbox Pictures and Cordell Jigsaw Zapruder.

In her previous roles, Brady has been responsible for negotiating local and international production, distribution and talent deals. These include The Wrong GirlGogglebox, CRAM, Anh’s Brush With Fame, Silvia’s Italian Table and various documentaries.

Essential Media’s current Australian unscripted production slate includes a second season of Body Hackwith Todd Sampson for Network Ten; Uncharted with Sam Neill for Foxtel & Prime NZ; and The Living Universe for ABC, Arte France, Curiosity Stream & UKTV.
