Singing competition format The Four: Battle for Stardom is slated to premiere Jan. 4 on American broadcaster Fox with leading music industry stars to sit on the judging panel.
Originally produced by Israeli producer-distributor Armoza Formats as The Final Four, the shiny-floor studio entertainment format features four finalists who are announced in the season premiere as selected by the leading music judges. But in every episode, talented hopefuls will try to steal a seat from one of the final four. Anyone can become a contestant at any time via submissions on the dedicated app, but only the best will be able to challenge the four finalists.
The star-studded panel will be comprised of Grammy Award-winning musician and record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, producer DJ Khaled, Grammy-winning artist Meghan Trainor, and Republic Records president Charlie Walk.
In the U.S., The Four is produced by ITV Entertainment in association with Armoza Formats. David George, Adam Sher, David Eilenberg, Jessica Sebastian-Dayeh, Simon Thomas, Becca Walker, David Friedman, Avi Armoza, Moshiko Cohen and Elwin Viztelly de Groot will serve as executive producers. Sean “Diddy” Combs, meanwhile, serves as a producer on the series.
“This show is going to disrupt the world of competitive television and will revolutionize the format,” said Combs in a statement. “This series is about pure competition, fighting for your survival. Do you want to win? Do you want to be great? We’re giving fans a genuine look at what it takes to make it to the top and stay there- surrounding these up-and-coming artists, turning them into the next generation of stars.”
Since its launch in 2017, the musical format has been picked up by several territories, including France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Denmark, New Zealand and pan-Asia by Context Media.
The Four: Battle for Stardom will premiere in the U.S. on Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
