Investigation Discovery has revealed the latest installment of its An American Murder Mystery franchise will broadcast across the American true crime network on Nov. 29.
Scott Peterson: An American Murder Mystery delves into the mysterious disappearance of Laci Peterson while eight months pregnant with her first child and the disturbing dark side of her husband Scott Peterson.
Laci’s body would be found months later when a couple walking their dog discovered the decomposing body of a late-term fetus on the shoreline of San Francisco Bay. Laci’s body would be washed to shore one mile from where the baby’s body was found a day later.
Scott was later convicted of first degree murder in her death, and with murder in the second degree for the death of their prenatal son, Conner. Sitting on death row at San Quentin State Prison, his case is currently being appealed to the Supreme Court of California.
Produced by American Media, Inc. and Jupiter Entertainment, the two-hour special reopens the case 15 years later to unravel Laci’s December 2002 disappearance. From the initial missing persons’ report filed on Christmas Eve, to Scott’s double life, the special untangles the web of deceit and betrayal behind one of the most compelling homicides in U.S. history.
Featured in the film are exclusive interviews with Modesto Police Department investigators; Laci’s stepfather Ron Grantski; Scott’s ex-girlfriend Amber Frey; and Laci’s friends Stacey Boyers-Birdsong, Lori Ellsworth-Haints and Rene Tomlinson.
Scott Peterson: An American Murder Mystery premieres Nov. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ID.
