Those hoping to nominate programming for Realscreen‘s inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Award now have some extra time to get their nominations in.
In celebration of television programming that represents the “bigger picture” of the world we live in, Realscreen will present the award at the upcoming Realscreen Summit in Washington DC.
The award, sponsored by NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, is presented to honor a series, miniseries or one-off program that positively reflects diversity and inclusivity through its subject matter and casting.
Realscreen is offering readers within the non-fiction and unscripted industry the opportunity to nominate the programming from the 2017 calendar year (January 1 – December 31) that they feel has most successfully depicted those who have previously been under-represented in unscripted and non-fiction television. Series that are several seasons deep are eligible — if the programming stems from a season that is not the debut season of the series, please specify this in your nomination.
Readers are encouraged to send their nominations to Realscreen c/o editor Barry Walsh by December 5. If you are submitting a nomination on behalf of a program, please specify production companies, network partners, original air date of the episode, number of episodes in current season, and a link or content for viewing. Submissions will be assessed by a jury composed of industry members.
The Realscreen Summit takes place from January 28-31 in Washington DC. For more information, click here.
