UK pubcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a series from London-based prodco October Films which follows British Members of the European Parliament as Brexit unfolds.

Inside the EU (w/t) goes inside the European Parliament (pictured) during the Brexit dealings, as seen through eyes of Britain’s MEPs and their assistants.

The 3 x 60-minute series charts the highs and the lows of the UK’s public servants as they are caught between the politics at home and in Brussels.

Those taking part in the series include the Labour Party’s Seb Dance, who is trying to stop what he describes as “the catastrophe of Brexit” while trying to earn his political stripes.

A few corridors away, UKIP’s Brexit spokesman, Gerard Batten, is infuriated by the “quisling remoaners denying Great Britain a glorious and prosperous future” and is pushing for a harder, faster exit.

“Covering the first nine months of tantrums and turmoil in the Brexit negotiations and with every major political party filmed, Inside the EU provides a unique and colourful insight into these historic times,” said Nick Mirsky, C4 head of documentaries, in a statement.

Inside the EU is series produced and directed by Christian Trumble, executive produced by Jane Merkin and Denman Rooke for October Films. The series is a copro between October Films and Trumble and was commissioned by Mirsky at C4.
