Magnify Media licenses True Selfie to Holland’s pubcaster BNNVARA

UK-based distribution and rights management specialist Magnify Media has licensed True Selfie (pictured) to Holland pubcaster BNNVARA.

The 6 x 30-minute series will be produced by Endemol Shine-owned Simpel Media and will air on NPO3. The series follows the therapy of eight young people with mental health issues from the perspectives of their self-filmed video diaries and group therapy sessions.

True Selfie has also been optioned by multiple international producers, including: Bristow Global Media for English-speaking Canada; Trio Orange for French-speaking Canada; Elk in Sweden; ITV Studios in Finland; United Productions in Denmark.

Produced originally for NRK in Norway by Anti, part of the Anti INC, True Selfie aired this spring and has been commissioned for a second season.

GRB Entertainment crime series head to the Caribbean and Europe

LA-based distributor and producer GRB Entertainment has made a slew of sales for its crime series to broadcasters across the Caribbean and Europe.

In the Caribbean, Digicel has picked up three crime series including Exposed which uncovers the truth behind crimes committed against celebrities. On The Case explores murder mysteries through in-depth interviews with those closest to the case and examining the forensic evidence that helped to solve the crimes; and Wicked Attraction (pictured) examines the criminal minds of murderous men, and the women who love them.

Networks WP1 in Poland, Sixx in Germany and Estonia’s Kanal 2 have also picked up Wicked Attraction.

The two-hour documentary Gang World was sold to both Polsat (Poland) and to N-TV (German-speaking Europe). The special look at the origins and evolution of the most violent and dangerous gangs in the U.S.

N-TV also acquired Inside American Hate — a docuseries covering America’s hate-based and racist organizations.

Newen Distribution picks up rights to TF1′s My Best Christmas Ever

Newen’s distribution arm has acquired the sales rights to French network TF1′s competition show My Best Christmas Ever.

Produced by TF1 Production, the factual entertainment series features four families competing against each other to plan the perfect Christmas. The families compete on holiday elements including having the most spectacular Christmas tree, or the best dinner menu.

A second season of My Best Christmas Ever has already been commissioned by TF1 for Christmas 2018.
