The creators of Lip Sync Battle are launching a new celebrity competition show on Facebook’s video platform, Watch.
SpringHill Entertainment has teamed with Matador Content (Lip Sync Battle) for the 10-episode series Do or Dare, hosted by comedian James Davis (pictured).
Each episode features two celebrity contestants facing off in a series of ridiculous dares, ranging from crawling through a maze of mousetraps, to getting waxed by their opponent.
In return for undertaking these dares, celebrities receive US$25,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice. Over the course of the season, US$500,000 will be raised for charitable organizations. Viewers also have the opportunity to donate directly to any of the featured charities via the Do or Dare show Page.
Celeb contestants taking part in the series include musicians Usher and Jermaine Dupri, athletes such as CC Sabathia and Terrell Owens, and members of the cast of VEEP and Fuller House.
The premiere episode features Usher, who will battle it out for his foundation, Usher’s New Look, against Jermaine Dupri, who chose to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Do or Dare is executive produced by Matador Content, Scott St. John and SpringHill Entertainment in association with Shed Media – a division of Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative Television.
Do or Dare premieres Dec. 15 on Facebook Watch.
