OTT digital service Olympic Channel has debuted an original series filmed entirely in 360 virtual reality.

Trending Gold, a seven-episode, multi-part serieproduced by Jaunt, will take audiences into the world of athletes who are set on competing at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The series features nine athletes and Olympic hopefuls from six countries across four different sports: snowboard big air, alpine skiing, short track speed skating and bobsleigh.

The athletes featured in the series include U.S. snowboard big air champ Jamie Anderson (pictured), the Nigerian bobsleighed team and Swiss alpine skier Luc Aerni.

Trending Gold launched today (Jan. 4) on the Olympic Channel global digital platform, along with behind-the-scenes episodes and other short-form videos. The channel is available worldwide at olympicchannel.com.

Trending Gold is an innovative new series that uses technologies such as virtual reality and 360-degree video to bring viewers inside the personal worlds of several winter athletes creating an immersive and engaging experience for our fans,” said Mark Parkman, GM of the IOC’s global Olympic Channel, in a statement.
