CNN Original Series and Bat Bridge Entertainment are slated to chronicle the transformation of Patty Hearst from heiress to terrorist in a forthcoming docuseries for the Turner Broadcasting System-owned network.
As realscreen previously reported, The Radical Story of Patty Hearst (6 x 60) will provide insight into the February 1974 kidnapping of 19-year-old Patricia “Patty” Hearst, American heiress of publishing giant William Randolph Hearst, from her Berkeley, California apartment.
Hearst would resurface months later, first as a hostage of the Symbionese Liberation Army, then claiming allegiance to the SLA. In September 1975, Hearst was arrested for bank robbery, tried by a jury and convicted of various serious crimes.
The Radical Story of Patty Hearst weaves together archive footage, cinematic recreation and exclusive first-hand accounts from Bill Harris, the man that abducted Hearst, and former fiancé Steven Weed.
The Radical Story of Patty Hearst premieres with weekly back-to-back episodes beginning Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CNN. The series will also stream live for subscribers on Feb. 11 via CNNgo and on the CNN mobile apps for iOS and Android.
