NBCUniversal-owned cable net USA Network has commissioned a six-part docuseries slated to chronicle the married lives of WWE wrestling superstars The Miz and Maryse.
Produced by WWE and Bunim/Murray Productions, the tentatively titled Miz & Mrs. (6 x 30) will feature the couple as they prepare to welcome their first child into the world.
The Miz, born Michael Mizanin, was first introduced to television audiences as a cast member of Bunim/Murray’s The Real World: Back to New York for MTV in 2001 and in its spin-off series, Real World/Road Rules Challenge between 2002 and 2005. Mizanin would go on to parlay his reality TV fame into a successful WWE career, debuting in 2006.
Maryse, meanwhile, made her WWE debut in 2006. The Quebec-native, born Maryse Ouellet, currently stars in E!’s hit reality series Total Divas, produced by Bunim/Murray.
The long-time couple became engaged in 2013, were married in 2014, and, in September 2017, announced their pregnancy live on Monday Night Raw.
Miz & Mrs. is expected to broadcast in 2018 and sit alongside USA’s WWE programming, which includes five hours of live programming each week via Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live.
“As the exclusive television home for WWE’s flagship programming, USA Network is excited to give this passionate fan base even more of two of WWE’s most colorful superstars, The Miz and Maryse,” said Heather Olander, SVP of alternative development and production, in a statement. “Miz & Mrs. (wt) is an intimate, behind-the-scenes glimpse at this iconic couple as they face one of their most exciting challenges yet – becoming parents.”
“We can’t wait to share this next chapter of our lives with our fans as we get ready to welcome our daughter into this world,” added The Miz and Maryse.
