ZDF Enterprises, the commercial arm of German pubcaster ZDF, has merged its factual and entertainment divisions.

ZDFE.factual, helmed by Ralf Rüeckauer (pictured, left), and ZDFE.entertainment, headed up by Sylvia Brucker (right), have become ZDFE.unscripted.

The newly minted department will be directed by Rückauer, with Brucker continuing to oversee all entertainment content.

The merged division will house a content library that includes such leading German entertainment formats as Wanna Bet?, Quiz Champion and Cash or Trash and high-end documentaries like Big Pacific, The Story of Europe and Size Matters, as well as the forthcoming A Day in the Life of Earth and The Humboldt Story.

“This optimized structure will offer our national and international customers and business partners even better service with well-known quality and proven contacts,” said Fred Burcksen, president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, in a statement. “We will consolidate our position in the market and continue to develop ourselves under the brand ZDFE.unscripted.”
