Blue Ant bolsters LatAm sales team
Global producer, distributor and channel operator Blue Ant Media has created a sales team for its Global Networks division led by Julio Sobral.
The team will focus on distributing Love Nature, ZooMoo and Arcade Cloud across the LatAm and U.S.-Hispanic markets.
As general manager, Kids and Global Networks – LatAm & U.S.-Hispanic, Sobral and the team will oversee the distribution and operations of Blue Ant Media’s suite of channels across linear and streaming platforms across the U.S.-Hispanic, LatAm and Brazil markets.
Sobrano will report to Ward Platt, CEO, Kids & Global Networks. He arrives at Blue Ant from Fox Network Groups Europe and U.S. where he served as SVP, business operations.
Reporting to Julio Sobral and working out of Blue Ant’s LA offices, the LatAm & U.S.-Hispanic sales group will include Loreto Gaete, covering Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico; Sebastian Galia, overseeing sales in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay; Fernando Gualda who will be responsible for affiliate sales and distribution in the region; and Starrett Berry will be covering the Caribbean and U.S. Hispanic region.
Jennifer Askin joins Kew Media in VP role
Global distributor Kew Media Group has appointed Jennifer Askin to the role of VP, sales, distribution for U.S. and Latin America.
Reporting into Jonathan Ford, EVP of sales and distribution, Askin will be responsible for sales of all Kew Media content across all genres (including feature films) to U.S. and LatAm buyers on a regional and pan regional basis.
Askin joins Kew after six years with Askin & Company, an entertainment consulting firm specializing in content programming, marketing and distribution.
From 2009 to 2012 Askin held the role of director of international sales at Alfred Haber Distribution and continued working with the company as a consultant up until her appointment at Kew.
She held a broadcast and digital sales manager post at 4Kids Entertainment before joining Alfred Haber, and spent seven years in network and cable news, with roles at NBC News, MSNBC, and ABC News.
Former discovery VP joins Chicken Soup for the Soul
Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment has appointed Susan Kravitz as EVP, sales and strategic sponsorships.
Prior to joining CSS Entertainment, Kravitz served as senior vice president of national digital sales at American radio network and media company Townsquare.
Previously, she was VP of national digital sales at Discovery Communications and has held senior sales and marketing positions at major media and entertainment companies including Meredith, OMD, and Brightline.
From 2004 to 2009, Kravitz served as president of Co.Op TV, which created, developed, packaged, and sold content for all media platforms to network executives and clients.
