Emmy-nominated actor Zachary Quinto is slated to host and executive produce a reboot of In Search of for History.

The 10-episode series will explore unexplained phenomena from around the world.

Inspired by the 1970′s franchise, in each episode of In Search Of, Quinto investigates a different subject such as alien encounters, mysterious creatures, UFO sightings, time travel and artificial intelligence, all in pursuit of the truth behind some of the world’s greatest mysteries.

Produced for History by Propagate Content, Universal Television Alternative Studio and Before the Door Pictures, In Search Of will feature eye witness accounts and scholars with a personal connection to the unexplained. Immersive demonstrations and experiments will contextualize each episode’s theme.

The original In Search Of series aired from 1977 TO 1982 and was hosted by Rod Serling and later by Leonard Nimoy following Serling’s death. Quinto is perhaps best known for his role as Spock in the recent Star Trek films — a role originated by Nimoy.

Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Brett-Patrick Jenkins are executive producers for Propagate Content. Eddie Schmidt is also executive producer. Zachary Behr is executive producer for History.

FremantleMedia International will distribute the series globally.
