UK-based indie factual prodco Woodcut Media has tapped Matthew Gordon to the newly created position of executive producer, popular factual.

The former Avalon Factual Television exec starts immediately, reporting into CEO Kate Beal and working closely with creative director Derren Lawford.

Gordon spent three years at Avalon as head of features and daytime, developing, pitching and producing formats and series to UK and U.S. broadcasters.

Prior to Avalon, Gordon spent six years working as an EP across Avalon’s production companies Flame Television and Liberty Bell on series such as Heir Hunters (BBC1 and BBC2), The Nightmare Neighbour Next Door (Channel 5) and A Town & Country Murder (CI).

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Gordon has worked across factual, features and documentaries, with experience in all genres, from science and history to docudramas. His other credits include Comic Relief Does Car Booty (BBC1), Four in a Bed – Series 1-7 (Channel 4), Can’t Pay We’ll Take It Away and Murdered by my Fiancé (Channel 5).
