FremantleMedia UK entertainment label Thames has appointed Shona Baldwin as director of development.

In her role, Baldwin will work closely with managing director Amelia Brown and creative director Phil Harris to develop new formats for global audiences. Baldwin joins Thames in February.

The exec joins FremantleMedia UK from Twofour label Boomerang, where she was director of development. Baldwin has led the factual and entertainment teams at Boomerang since 2015, creating ITV’s upcoming six-part, studio format What Would Your Kid Do?.

Before that, Baldwin was head of development at Outline Productions and head of format development at Studio Lambert, and part of the team behind such titles such as Gogglebox, The Great British Interior Design Challenge and Million Second Quiz.

Baldwin got her start in production working for ITV Studios for five years, producing and directing shows including Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Come Dine With Me, Hell’s Kitchen and The Savoy.
