Crime-focused network Oxygen Media is spotlighting the life of former NFL New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in an upcoming docuseries.

From Entertainment One Company Renegade 83, the two-part docuseries Aaron Hernandez Uncovered looks at the story of the sports phenomenon, whose life was cut following a series of dark events.

In April 2017, 27-year-old Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell, days after being acquitted for double homicide. At the time of his death, he had been serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

This special delves into Hernandez’s dual life through interviews, eyewitness accounts, testimony never presented in trial, medical evidence, and an untold secret kept by Hernandez.

The docuseries features interviews with Shayanna Hernandez, Aaron’s fiancée and the mother of his only child, lead defense attorney Jose Baez, friends, former teammates, detectives, the prosecutor, the sheriff, and the journalists who covered his story extensively.

The docuseries is executive produced by Renegade’s David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Bob Kusbit, and Vince DiPersio. Jose Baez serves as consulting producer.

Aaron Hernandez Uncovered premieres March 17 at 7 p.m. ET/PT and March 18 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
