TV One’s parent company, Urban One, has named Michelle Rice as its permanent general manager.

Rice has served as the interim GM since July of 2017, following the departure of previous GM, Brad Siegel.

As permanent GM, the longtime TV One exec will continue to oversee and lead all business and creative aspects of the network in addition to managing the network’s major affiliate relationships.

“It gave me great joy to promote Michelle as the General Manager of the network she helped to build,” said Urban One CEO Alfred C. Liggins. “Her work ethic, leadership skills and business acumen prove her readiness for this role. She has a passion for our audience and a vision to continue the growth of the network in this highly competitive landscape.”

Prior to joining TV One as one of its first employees and as VP of distribution strategy and operations, Rice held positions at BET, NBC’s cable networks division and iNDemand.
