Global streaming giant Netflix has ordered a reality series featuring organization icon Marie Kondo.

The eight-episode untitled project will be produced by Santa Monica-based prodco The Jackal Group. It features Kondo as she helps people transform their homes and lives. Kondo is the author of the international bestseller, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, which has sold 8.5 million copies across over 40 countries. 

Her organization strategy, dubbed the KonMari method, is practiced in different areas around the world. Kondo’s company, KonMari Media Inc., launched an online course in November 2017 where anyone can watch a video to learn more about her organizational approach. Kondo and her team are working to create a global community for those practicing the KonMari Method.

Executive producers on the project are Gail Berman, Joe Earley, Kondo and Takumi Kawahara.Bianca Barnes-Williams is the showrunner.

“Marie created an incredible global movement to inspire personal understanding through mindful organization,” said Berman, in a statement. “We’ve seen individuals undergo astonishing and moving personal journeys simply by applying Marie’s approach to their own homes, and we are delighted to work with her and Netflix to share her methods.”
