Next-generation multi-media prodco Studio Ramsay, founded by acclaimed chef Gordon Ramsay, has appointed former TLC development executive Elvia Van Es Oliva as EVP and head of current programming.

In the new role, Van Es Oliva will head up the company’s U.S. office, where she will be responsible for overseeing its existing slate while also working closely with London-based chief creative officer Chris Brogden to bring the studio’s formats to the American marketplace.

Van Es Oliva will be based out of Studio Ramsay’s Los Angeles office when she takes up the new role later this month. She joins Justin Mandel, head of digital and short form content, in the LA office.

Van Es Oliva has joins Studio Ramsay from TLC where she led the West Coast development team as VP of development. During her time at the Discovery Communications-owned network, Van Es Oliva helped launch such hit series as Outdaughtered, Rattled, Meet the Putmans and the four-night live event This Is Life Live.

Prior to TLC, Van Es Oliva was SVP of development for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, producer of the U.S. version of Big Brother, where she was responsible for developing and selling formats, social experiments and docuseries including Food Network’s The Big Tip and Style Network’s Big Rich Texas.

Van Es Oliva also previously served as VP of programming and development at High Noon Entertainment, West Coast, where she helped develop, sell and oversee shows. Her remit included TruTV’s Guinness World Record’s Gone Wild and VH1′s Making Mr Right.

As a freelance producer and showrunner, her credits include ABC’s Brat Camp and The Family, MTV’s Flipped and NBC’s I Wanna Be A Hilton.

“Elvia’s background in development and program making are the perfect fit for Studio Ramsay, and her expertise in factual entertainment, features and formats will be invaluable,” said Brogden, in a statement.

“Her success in the unscripted arena along with her knowledge of the industry overall, her tremendous work ethic and passion, will be pivotal to the company’s growth,” added Ramsay.

Founded in April 2016, Studio Ramsay – a joint venture with All3Media – develops and produces both unscripted and scripted television shows, creating new formats and innovative programming. Working closely with Objective Media Group, Studio Ramsay’s catalog includes Fox’s The F Word with Gordon Ramsay and 24 Hours To Hell & Back; CBBC’s Matilda and The Ramsay Bunch; as well as Gordon on Cocaine, Culinary Genius and Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Great Christmas Roast, all for ITV. Seasons 3 and 4 of M, starring Tilly Ramsay for UK children’s channel CBBC are also produced by Studio Ramsay.
