As HGTV’s hit Fixer Upper winds down its fifth and final season, the Scripps-owned network is set to unveil a companion series starring the popular home reno duo of Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Fixer Upper: Behind the Design will debut on April 10, with each of the 15 half-hour episodes airing after an episode of the original series.

The upcoming series, produced by Fixer Upper prodco High Noon, will highlight how Joanna Gaines, the designer in the team, takes personal style preferences from homeowners and transforms them into the designs that are part of each big reveal in the original series. As a bonus, the series will include rooms not featured in episodes of the original Fixer Upper.

Last November, the Waco, Texas-based duo announced their intentions to focus on their family and their business by ending the wildly successful original series after five seasons. HGTV announced plans for the spin-off series some time before that news broke, last March.
