California-based digital studio Portal A has shuffled its senior team.

Supervising producer Jacob Motz (pictured) has been elevated to the role of director of development.

In his new role, Motz will be responsible for overseeing the company’s slate of formats which includes 40 unscripted and scripted shows. Some of the series in Portal A’s portfolio include Song Voyage, a six part-part musical comedy series featuring YouTube’s The Gregory Brothers, and the upcoming Alt Web, a curated anthology of docs found on the internet which chronicle the strangest stories from the digital age.

Motz will be working on a variety of unscripted and scripted projects for the studio’s Originals division.

Most recently, Motz helped launch One Shot – an unscripted dance competition special for YouTube Red featuring choreographer Will “WilldaBeast” Adams.

Before joining Portal A, Motz was head of production at Los Angeles-based entertainment company Fullscreen.

Elyse Preiss has been elevated from managing producer to head of production at Portal A.

In her new role, Preiss will manage the studio’s in-house team of producers while overseeing production on all of Portal A’s branded and original projects.

Preiss previously worked on producing and supervising large-scale, global productions, for Portal A including YouTube’s Rewind.

Elsewhere, Aaron Umetani has been hired as in-house director and creative lead, Arturo Morales has been named head of post-production and Jeffrey Sabin-Matsumoto has been upped to supervising producer.
