Former Entertainment One executive Heidi Schorn is joining Toronto-based Alibi Entertainment as director of development, effective immediately.

In her new position, Schorn (pictured) will lead Alibi’s factual content team and reports into executive producer of development Nick Crowe, who joined from Shaw Media in July 2015.

Most recently, Schorn served as director of development at eOne and, before that, was director of development at Vancouver-headquartered Paperny Entertainment.

With experience in all phases of development, Schorn’s production credits include such format adaptations as CBC’s This Is High School and original copros as Food Network’s Food Truck Face Off for the Canadian and American markets.

“We are excited to welcome Heidi to Alibi as we continue to expand and strengthen our factual and unscripted slate,” said Alibi Entertainment president and executive producer James Hyslop in a statement. “Heidi has a keen sense of story and a wealth of experience developing and creating compelling content. Combining those skills with her outstanding relationships with Canadian and International broadcasters are critical for growth in an increasingly competitive landscape.”
