Los Angeles-based steaming operator TV4 Entertainment has teamed with Singapore media company Multi Channels Asia (MCA) to brings its content to Asia.
Operating under the name Omni Channels Asia, the agreement will see MCA localize and replicate TV4′s portfolio of original productions and channels to distribution platform partners across the Asian region.
The venture will also acquire Asian content for its channels and secure local production partners for original content development. This content will be packaged and distributed to mobile, OTT and Pay TV carriers.
“We are very excited about our new joint venture with TV4 Entertainment to bring their superb content to viewers on all platforms across the region,” said Gregg Creevey, managing director, Multi Channels Asia, (pictured) in a statement. “It is particularly timely, as telcos, Pay TV and OTT platforms seek to expand their channel and programming offerings with as much flexibility as possible.”
The initial fleet of channels will include Motorland, dedicated to cars and motorcycles; horror network Screambox; All Guitar Network, the first global channel dedicated to guitars; and house-and-garden focused Inside Outside.
The portfolio will also include sports networks and culture focused networks covering food, cooking and drinking.
