Veteran showrunner and development exec DJ Nurre has joined Endemol Shine North America as EVP, unscripted original series, as part of a global programming strategy set out by Sharon Levy, president, unscripted and scripted television.

In his new role, Nurre (pictured) will oversee all unscripted programming, pilots and presentations.

Nurre most recently served as EVP, programming and development at 3 Ball Entertainment. During his tenure, he led all development for the prodco including IP for broadcast, cable, digital and OTT. He also managed 3 Ball’s casting and development teams and current programming.

The executive spent 13 years at 3 Ball, championing series including Spike’s Bar Rescue and Catch a Contractor, Flying Wild Alaska for Discovery, LA Hair for WEtv and CNBC’s Adventure Capitalists. Additional credits include The Biggest Loser, MasterChef, Beauty and The Geek and For Love or Money.

Elsewhere, Endemol Shine North America has also named Dan Cazzola VP, international development, unscripted and Lisa Fahrenholt, VP international development, scripted. Fahrenholt, who has served as director, North American acquisitions for Endemol Shine International, will continue to also oversee finished program acquisitions and co-financing opportunities for Endemol Shine International.

Cazzola and Fahrenholt both bring international programming and production experience to their new roles. They will work with Levy to identify domestic unscripted and scripted content opportunities from across Endemol Shine Group’s 120 global production companies.

Most recently, Cazzola served as executive producer, global development for Endemol Shine Group, while Fahrenholt was director, North America acquisitions for Endemol Shine International.

“After getting to know my new Endemol Shine colleagues from around the globe and seeing all of the diverse, amazing content this company produces, it was clear that we needed experienced executives on our team here in North America identifying both unscripted and scripted opportunities,” Levy said, in a statement. “Dan and Lisa are just that, both have worked for our company internationally and have great programming instincts.”

Georgie Hurford-Jones, who serves as SVP, unscripted programming, will continue to executive produce current programming and will now lead Endemol Shine North America’s MasterChef franchise initiatives.

Robin Feinberg, who is also SVP, unscripted programming, will oversee the Fear Factor franchise and additional series.

Levy joined Endemol Shine North America in August 2017 from Spike TV.
