Factual entertainment UHD channel Insight TV has set a transmission date for its latest automotive series that will explore the growing racing trend of “drifting.”

Produced by The Go Big Project, the 10-part Close Proximity (pictured) will delve into the world of fast cars and trucks through the eyes of world-class drifting sensation Matt Field.

The series will follow the professional drift racer across the U.S. – beginning in Long Beach, California – as he takes on the 2016 Formula Drift Championship Series while balancing life as a business owner and navigating complex business and personal relationships.

Featured in Close Proximity will be some of the most successful Formula Drift stars and legendary speedway tracks including Wall Speedway in New Jersey, Road Atlanta in Atlanta, and Texas Motor Speedway in Texas, as well as a pit stop in Japan for the Formula Drift World Tour.

Drifting involves drivers intentionally losing tire traction by oversteering, while attempting to retain control of their cars through a high-speed turn.

The project was exec produced by Insight TV’s Frank Le Mair.

Close Proximity premieres on March 27 at 9:50 p.m. CET on Insight TV.
