Global prodco and distributor FremantleMedia has acquired the worldwide format rights to dating reality format The Single Wives.

Created by Los Angeles and Sydney-based prodco Eureka Productions and Australia’s Channel Seven, the series has been commissioned by Channel Seven and will be broadcast in Australia.

The Single Wives follows four women searching out their second chance at love. All have previously been married and now find themselves single and on a journey together to find new love.

For one month, the four women will live together, as they undergo a course that will teach them how to get back into the dating scene. A dating expert will put the women through a series of dating tasks and challenges, including speed dates and dinner parties, as they delve back into the dating world. They will emerge from the house knowing how to navigate the modern dating world in the hopes of finding someone new to share themselves with.

“The relationship arena is always timely, and our production network is perfectly positioned to roll out this format globally,” said Vasha Wallace, EVP of global acquisitions & development at FremantleMedia, in a statement.
