UK indie producer True North has appointed former BBC Entertainment North exec Kieron Collins as its new head of entertainment.
In his new role, Collins (pictured) is tasked with building the company’s entertainment slate. He will take up his post later this month as the company, according to a release, “prepares for the anticipated growth in out-of-London production.”
Previously, Collins served as managing editor for BBC Entertainment North, where he most recently created and executive produced Even Better Than The Real Thing for BBC1 and the archive series Top of the Box (4 x 120 minutes) for Channel 5.
Elsewhere, True North executive producer Fiona O’Sullivan has been named head of factual entertainment and reality, and will also continue to oversee the company’s Manchester base.
O’Sullivan joined True North in 2011 and has created, and executive produced a range of True North content including Teen Mom UK for MTV and The Lie Detective for Channel 4.
She previously worked at the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, and also served as head of factual at Lime Pictures where she helped create and launch Towie and Geordie Shore.
