WBITVP Spain to produce Game of Games for Atena 3

Warner Bros. International Television Production Spain (WBITVP Spain) has been commissioned by Spanish media co Atresmedia to produce the first international format of Game of Games for Antena 3.

The U.S. version of the format, Ellen’s Game of Games, hosted by Ellen De Generes for NBC, has been recommissioned for a 13 episode second season. The American version of the series is produced by Warner Horizon, a division of Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative Television, in association with Telepictures and A Very Good Production.

Bristow Global Media readies Cleared for Chaos: 9/11

Toronto-based production house Bristow Global Media (BGM) has begun development on the docudrama Cleared for Chaos: 9/11 for Bell Media’s Discovery Networks in Canada.

The 2 x 60-minute series examines the role that air traffic controllers in the small Canadian town of Gander in Newfoundland had during September 11, 2001. Shooting on the docudrama is slated to begin in Gander, Newfoundland this September.

The series is being developed by BGM’s development team of president Julie Bristow (pictured), VP content Marlo Miazga and VP development Sean Connolly.

Cleared for Chaos: 9/11 is being distributed internationally by TCB Media Rights this week at the MIPTV market in Cannes.

Science Channel preps Innovators

An upcoming Science Channel docuseries from Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning Ross Greenburg Productions will go deep into the minds and lives of the people who have changed the way we live.

The three-part series, titled The Innovators (w/t), pairs historical and contemporary figures from similar fields. It will also look at how innovation happens, as well as making connections between modern innovators and their predecessors to tell the story of how our modern world was created.

The 3 x 60-minute episodes combine in-depth profiles of two innovators, each of whom revolutionizing their respective industries. The founder of Sears, Richard Warren Sears, will be paired with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Meanwhile, Alexander Graham-Bell, who patented the first telephone line and founded AT&T, will be matched with Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, and John and Horace Dodge, who challenged the Ford Motor Company’s automobile industry dominance, is paired with Elon Musk, founder of Tesla Motors and Space X.

Innovators is slated to premiere Q4 in 2018.
