London-based factual prodco Little Gem has tapped Kate Maddigan as its new head of entertainment.
In her new role, Maddigan will be tasked with developing and executing new shows as they get commissioned. She starts her new position on April 16th.
As a former commissioning editor at UK pubcaster Channel 4, Maddigan worked on the formats team that looked after the original and recommission of LEGO Masters for C4 and Celebs Go Dating, My Hotter Half and Five Star Hotel for E4.
Maddigan was previously at ITV for six years where she worked in the entertainment and comedy department. Her slate at the channel included I’m a Celebrity, Big Star’s Little Star, Towie, Britain’s Got More Talent and Xtra Factor. One of her last commissions was the reboot of Love Island for ITV2.
Before commissioning, Maddigan was a series and executive producer on entertainment programs including Strictly Come Dancing, Got to Dance, Odd One In, Joseph: Any Dream Will Do, Eurovision: Your Country Needs You, Glastonbury and Oliver: I’d Do Anything.
