All3Media-owned indie Studio Lambert has boosted its presence in the United States with the transferring and elevation of a senior London-based development executive.

Jack Burgess (pictured), who joined the shop in 2014, has been named SVP of development and current, where he will be responsible for leading the company’s unscripted development strategy for the U.S.

Working from the company’s offices in Los Angeles, Burgess reports to Greg Goldman, president of Studio Lambert in America, while also continuing to report to creative director Tim Harcourt in the UK.

“Jack has been extremely successful running our UK unscripted development team over the last few years,” said Studio Lambert CEO Stephen Lambert in a statement. “I’m confident in his new LA-based role he will be equally successful, by building on his knowledge of both markets and ensuring our unscripted development effort on both sides of the Atlantic are working closely together to create hits.”

Burgess had served as head of UK unscripted development since 2014, responsible for devising new ideas and managing Studio Lambert’s development through the sales process to UK networks.

Prior to Studio Lambert, Burgess was head of development at NBCUniversal International Studios and Fever Media, developing a range of factual and entertainment formats.

Elsewhere, Niall O’Driscoll has been tapped to shuffle into Burgess’ vacant role as head of UK unscripted development, effective immediately.

Reporting to Harcourt, O’Driscoll will continue Studio Lambert’s strategy of developing returning formats across all UK broadcasters. His credits include Tattoo FixersBig Life FixNaked Attraction and Buy it Now, all for Channel 4; BBC2′s Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge; and BBC1′s Nightmare Pets SOS, all of which launch this week.

Launched in 2008, Studio Lambert has sold and produced more than 25 original unscripted formats to UK buyers in the last five years, including the global format hit Gogglebox. The company’s further production credits include Undercover Boss and Wife Swap, both of which were initially launched via British broadcasters before being successfully launched on American networks.
