Sony Pictures Entertainment has secured a multi-year production and development partnership with two-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry.

Under the deal, Curry’s newly minted shingle Unanimous Media will leverage “the diversity and breadth of the studio’s content platforms” to develop and produce projects across its film, television, and worldwide partnerships operations with a heavy focus on family, faith-based and sports storytelling.

The pact will also extend to opportunities in partnerships, electronics, gaming, and virtual reality.

Unanimous will be headquartered from the Sony Pictures studio lot in Culver City.

“I’ve been blessed to have this platform and I want to use it to affect the world positively,” said Curry in a statement. “Partnering with Sony to share inspiring content with a global audience was a foregone conclusion.”

Unanimous was founded by Curry in partnership with CEO Jeron Smith and chief creative officer Erick Peyton. The multimedia shop will produce scripted and non-scripted content across television, film and digital platforms.

“Sony’s broader ecosystem perfectly aligns with our mission, vision and position.┬áThe essence of who Stephen is centers around inspiration and while there’s an immense opportunity here, we see this as an anomalous adaption of social entrepreneurship. It’s deeper than just business,” added Smith.

Bryan Smiley, VP of production at Columbia Pictures, negotiated the deal and will oversee production and development with Unanimous Media for the motion picture group. Chris Parnell, co-president of Sony Pictures Television, will oversee television projects with Unanimous Media in both the scripted and non-scripted space.

Jeffrey Godsick, EVP of brand strategy and global partnerships, will oversee partnerships and brand extension opportunities across Sony platforms.

“We’re thrilled to work alongside Steph to bring his positive, affirming brand to create content in the scripted and non-scripted television landscape,” said SPT’s Parnell in a statement. “He’s tapping into his drive and creative energy on the court to expand to horizons off the court and we’re honored to be a part of it.”
